Tribal Department: Diabetes Care and Prevention Program

 

Job Summary: Prepare patients for their appointments with medical providers and RN CDE by documenting brief chief compliant, obtaining vital signs, and downloading glucose monitoring devices and insulin pump, as well as administering immunizations, performing foot check and other related medical screenings. Perform job duties as instructed by medical providers and will perform duties as needed by the Diabetes Program for the care of diabetes and pre-diabetes patients. Assist with diabetes day and community outreach activities, which may include garden days on occasional Saturdays. Cross-trained with other medical specialties within the health clinic and willing to advance in the field of diabetes education as paraprofessional level 1 educator. This is a contracted Part-time position.

 

Compensation:  $18.30 hr.

 

Education Required

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

 

Minimum Related Experience

  • One (1) year of medical experience.

 

Required Licenses/Certifications/Prerequisites

  • Washington State Medical Assistant certification.
  • BLS/CPR certification.
  • WA State Driver’s License and must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulation. (Abstract Required)
  • Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
  • HIPAA certification upon hire.
  • Must complete an Agility exam to determine if physically capable of performing the job duties.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check

 

Terms of Employment:  This is a contracted Part-time position.
